I
have scars from the life (death) before I decided to live for Christ, some
tangible and others not. I often get sad when I see them or think about them
BUT I cry because I will never forget the truth or the extent of how Jesus made
me new!! =)
As much as I hate to say it I get so disappointed
in myself when I think about my past and I’m still working on fully forgiving
ME but I cannot get over the unfathomable love that it took for Jesus to
forgive me!!! =) I have to constantly remind myself that my past is not a
reminder to make me sad but it is a part
of my testimony that can be used to help others know Jesus.
Mark
5:18-20
King
James Version (KJV)
18 And when he was come into the ship, he that had
been possessed with the devil prayed him that he might be with him.
19 Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto
him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done
for thee, and hath had compassion on thee.
20 And he departed, and began to publish in
Decapolis how great things Jesus had done for him: and all men did marvel.
2
Corinthians 5:17
King
James Version (KJV)
17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new
creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
It may be hard to forgive yourself, but just take it in little steps. Each morning tell yourself that you are forgiven and work a little more on letting that truth sink in and heal you.

Thank you so much Helen for your encouragement! =)
DeleteThis post is so touching to me because I went through the same phase. I had to just believe and trust God that all of my sins are forgiven. In remebering your sins, there comes some positive things such as it helps you give God more because you know how low/far he went to save YOU! I better stop right here because God knows I can go on and on about his love, mercy, kindess, faithfullness, everlastingness, and so much more. God is amazing so lets give him praise for all that he has done for us because he's HIGHLY worthy of it.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad that you are free from that and I know I will be soon! The positive outweighs everything an God is definitely amazing =) Thanks for sharing Lexi! =) =)
DeleteFirstly, I think it is awesome that you are being honest with yourself. If we don't recognize that we have a problem, then there's no way we can ever be changed.
ReplyDeleteSecond, I would recommend you read "Identifying the Source of Guilt" and "Trade Your Guilt For Joy" both by B.R.Hicks. They are available for free download:

and here - http://www.cgcii.com/estore/books/trade-your-guilt-for-joy-free-download
I was feeling the same way at one point, and I read these books, and they changed my life. I hope they do the same for you.

Aww Rita! thanks for sharing this with me! =)
DeleteThat's the hardest thing: forgiving ourselves. God forgives, people sometimes, ourselves it's hard I've found out. But thank God for His awesome grace. We'll never be deserving or worthy of His grace and love, but we just gotta accept it.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree Chels! Thank you God for your Grace.
DeleteI totally understand. It is normal to feel disappointed and shocked and angry and regretful and wishing so badly that you could go back and change things in the past and lastly but not least loads and loads of self-doubt. Chalk it up as experiences that you can learn from, don't let the experience work it's way int your spirit. Let bygones be bygones. Understand not everyone can understand, but many can. Jesus can and He has forgotten. Also God loves you and has a plan for your life. Be patient. God has great confidence in you-His Word is replete with that fact. With His anointing comes a great sense of destiny, not to fail, but to ultimately live with Him and reign with Him for eternity. Of course in the here and now trials will come, we will not pass them all with flying colors, but God's grace is sufficient. He is so merciful and kind and He is our friend, really!! Read full chapter of Song of Solomon 5, for full maximum relief. Here is a snippet of chapter 5. Song of Solomon 5:16 His mouth is most sweet: yea, he is altogether lovely. This is my beloved, and this is my friend, O daughters of Jerusalem.
ReplyDeleteHe is your friend. A friend understands and a friend is one who can relate.
Thank you for showing so much love I will definitely read Song of Solomon
